ABOUT

Most of my best work doesn't have my name on it.

Danielle Ackerman, brand and business strategist

I’m Danielle

I work at the intersection of brand, business, and execution — often behind the scenes.

Too often, brand becomes an afterthought — disconnected from the business decisions shaping everything around it. My work connects the two, whether we're looking to the future or making sense of what's already in motion.

My work goes beyond defining a brand to making sure the business can actually deliver it. I work across strategy, positioning, marketing, people, processes, and experience to close the gaps between what a business promises and what customers actually experience — including the small moments they notice without realizing they’re noticing them.

Sometimes the real issue isn’t where you expect to find it.

I’m not particularly interested in marketing for marketing’s sake. I’m interested in what makes a business make sense — and what makes it matter.

I DIDN'T GET HERE

through one lane

My career has moved across brand, marketing, business strategy, and operations — sometimes from the outside as an advisor, and sometimes from inside the business itself.

That range changed the way I see the work. What looks like a marketing problem might actually be a positioning problem. A customer experience issue might start with a process. And a brand decision can affect far more than what anyone sees on a website.

Knowing where to look — and how those pieces connect — is often where the real work begins.

It’s why I don’t look at brand in isolation.

IF PEOPLE DON'T KNOW YOU,
you have a marketing problem.

IF PEOPLE DON'T CHOOSE YOU,
you have a branding problem.

That distinction matters. Because before I start solving the problem, I want to make sure we’re solving the right one.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS

WHAT clients say

"We came in with plenty of ideas, but Danielle helped us find clarity in the noise.

She took the time to understand what truly sets Clover apart and helped us articulate our voice — not just what we do, but why we do it and why we show up for our clients the way we do every day.

Danielle didn't just polish our words, she helped centre our story so the public has a clear, honest picture of what Clover does and how we do it.”
